Thank you for stopping by!
My name is Helena and I was born and raised in Serbia. Serbia is relatively a new country located in Southeastern Europe, it used to be part of SFR Yugoslavia. In high school I’ve studied Architecture, but my senior year I took an opportunity as exchange student in United States. After graduating from American high school, I attended college in the US. I studied International Business with a minor in Marketing. During my Senior Year of University, I met my husband Patrick/Scott and we live in North West Arkansas (XNA) – better known as a home of Fortune 500 companies (Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson Foods, etc). We love living here. Northwest Arkansas is booming. The area still has a country feel but has all the entertainment and amenities of an urban city. We also have six kitty cats Maggie, Marie, Mocha, Gigi, Little Bit and Sinbad. I know that’s a lot of cats, but what can I say, they’ve adopted us and we love them so much.
I started Gratefully Helena in 2016 on Instagram as a creative outlet. Later that year I started my blog Gratefully Helena where I share everything from travel, food, style, home and life.

Where is Serbia?

A Quick History of Serbia
Serbia is a country in the Balkans with a rich, but brutal, history. After suffering millions of deaths in the Balkan Wars, WW1, WW2 and the Yugoslav wars all within just one century, it is no surprise that all this must have, in one way or another, left a scar on the country.
